WILLIAM NADEN HUGHES MEMORIAL MATCH.

The club wish to thank everyone involved in the above. Clearly the large numbers of

supporters who turned up to show their respects made a great impression on the family.

The auction was a huge success also with all items sold.

Thanks too to all those who donated items for the auction and for those club members who gave

of their time to steward the car park, sell the macth programmes and generally assist in the

smooth running of the evening.

The club were surprised but delighted to receive two of the auction lots as gifts to display at

the clubhouse.

Gwyn "Penlan" Jones donated the RWC Welsh signed jersey.

The Jim Jams donated the signed Scarlets shirt .

Both will be framed and displayed at the club in the near future. Many thanks to both for

their very generous donation.

The match could not have taken place without the unwavering support of the North Wales

Rugby Union. Not only did they arrange and pay for the services of the referee and linesmen

but they made the arrangements to get the North Wales squad of twenty four players to

Bodegroes for the match and made a donation to the collection made for the family to disperse.

Our thanks go to Alwyn Jones,Stuart Waters,Alwyn Bevan and Chairman Dai Davies

for their backing.

Most importantly John Hughes and all the family wish to thank everyone for their kind words and

support for the event .

Diolch yn fawr.

ARTHUR HENRY STUDT

ERROR IN DAILY POST OBITUARY.

The family have asked us to correct an error which appeared in the Daily Post obituary.

They wish to confirm that both the service at St.Peter's and at Denio are PUBLIC .All are welcome.

Flowers by the family only please.

Any donations will be shared between the nurses who cared for Harry and Junior rugby at Pwllheli.

_____________________________________________________________________

October 16,2011.

ARTHUR HENRY STUDT

23 November 1933-14 October 2011.

The club were saddened to hear of the passing of Harry-as he was known by all-Studt.Harry

died as he would have wanted - at home .Harry will  be known for his role in establishing the fairground

at the Maes which has long become a feature of Pwllheli.

At the club he will be known for producing four sons all of whom have made an impact on Pwllheli rugby.Harry was very proud of Richard,Colin,Andrew and Ian and more recently of all his

granddchildren.Chris and Carl Studt are regular members of the first team squad.

Harry was old school and was not one to laud his own achievements within the game.He captained

Welsh Schools in 1952 and was Captain again when Wales Schools won in France for the first

time ever following a victory in Biarritz. He was a first team player at Christ College Brecon for four

years and later played for Swansea ,the RAF and the Combined Services.

His rugby and academic careers-he had been offered a place at Cambridge-ended with the sudden loss of his father and Harry chose to put family first  and went to run the family business as its' only son.

Harry coached the school side in the sixties but he felt his greatest contribution to rugby was his

four sons and latterly his grandsons.

Harry was liked and respected by all who knew him and he will be sadly missed. Our condolences go to Mrs.Studt and the whole family.

The funeral takes place on Thursday October 20,2011.The service is public and will

be held at the St.Peter's Church  Pwllheli at 11 a.m.and then at Denio.

WILLIAM NADEN HUGHES.

Will playing as scrum half in a match against Caernarfon,

Most of you will have heard by now of the tragic accident which took the life of Wil Pent early

yesterday morning. For those of us privileged to know him it is huge loss .He will always be

remebered for what he was-a gentle ,popular ,caring young man who enjoyed life to the full.He

was a credit to his father John who was rightly very proud of him. He will be sadly missed by his

many friends and it just does not seem fair that his life was taken when he was at his happiest.

The family's despair is unimagineable and all we can do for now is to send the Clubs sincerest and

deepest condolences to the whole family.
