April 12th 2008

The team's resounding away win at Bro Ffestiniog Youths yesterday secured the Divison Two North title for Pwllheli. Sincere congratulations to all involved with the team. Particular thanks to coach Mark Roberts and the hardworking team manager Edwin Jones.

February 1st 2008

A campaign between Healthcare Wales and the WRU will take place during the

next few weeks. The intention is to promote fitness and healthy eating etc

among young rugby players.

Pwllheli Youths will get a chance to meet Mike Phillips the Welsh International

scrum half when he visits Bodegroes on Sunday March 2nd 2008 at 1.30pm.

December 18th 2007

The Youth team are again having a good season and are topping their league at present.This is a very young side and the experience gained this year should stand them in good stead for the future. 

Edwin Jones' role as manager is key to Youth rugby at Pwllheli and he deserves your support.

The Club very much needs the support of parents to assist with away games. All that is required is for someone to assist with the kit, water bottles and the like. Arrangements are now being put in place for the forthcoming season.

We have contacted the union regarding our intention to compete in the Scarlets Division Two North.

Thankfully Edwin Jones has again agreed to manage the team and with David Martin's move to the First XV coaching position, Mark Roberts has agreed to assist Edwin with Youth Team coaching.

Edwin will be arranging WRU registrations in the next few weeks so feel free to contact him for any information.

At present it is planned that dedicated Youth team training will be held on Thursdays at the Club starting in September.

Youth team players are however welcome to attend general training sessions at the club which will be held on Saturday June 30th and then on each Tuesday and Thursday thereafter.

THE YOUTH SIDE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REGROUPED AFTER A DISAPPOINTING SEQUENCE OF RESULTS OVER THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD.A SERIES OF STRONG SHOWINGS HAS SEEN THEM CLIMB BACK UP THE TABLE.THEY ARE LIKELY TO END THE SEASON  IN A RESPECTABLE THIRD OR FOURTH PLACE.

THE TEAM WILL START THE 2007-2008 WITH ANOTHER VERY YOUNG SIDE BUT THEY WILL BE STRENGTHENED BY AN INFLUX FROM THE CURRENT UNDER SIXTEEN'S TEAM.

THE SCHEDULED MATCH AWAY TO BRO FFESTINIOG IS OFF AS BRO HAVE HAD TO PULL PUT OF THE LEAGUE.WE ARE TRYING TO SECURE AN ALTERNATIVE FIXTURE.

 

SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER,2006.

COLWYN BAY 27   PWLLHELI 32.

PWLLHELI SECURED ANOTHER CRUCIAL WIN AGAINST A STRONG COLWYN BAY SIDE.THIS KEEPS THE MOMENTUM GOING AFTER A RUN OF SOLID PERFORMANCES.

 

SATURDAY 2 DECEMBER .HOME TO ABERGELE RFC.2.30 K.O.

WITH PWLLHELI CURRENTLY SECOND IN THEIR YOUTH LEAGUE AND PLAYING WELL THEY WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED TO BE TOLD AT NOON THAT ABERGELE WERE UNABLE TO TRAVEL BECAUSE OF TRANSPORT PROBLEMS.THE MATCH WILL NOW NEED TO BE REARRANGED .

 

THE TEAM ARE AWAY TO COLWYN BAY ON SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER,2006.

 

THE REARRANGED MATCH AGAINST BALA HAS NOW BEEN CONFIRMED FOR 2.30 ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 23,2006 AT BODEGROES.
